Larry Tencer opened the agency in 1976 in historic downtown Petaluma, representing the Farmers Insurance Group of Companies. Since Farmers didn't write all lines of insurance, Larry obtained an insurance broker's license in 1978 so he could provide a full range of personal and commercial insurance to meet the needs of his growing client base.

After more than 25 years, it became apparent that no one company could continually maintain its competitive edge in the market place. That motivated Larry to leave Farmers and establish an independent insurance agency, which continues to serve the residents and businesses in Petaluma and surrounding communities.
